The Cabildo of Lanzarote congratulates the winners of the 33rd edition of IRONMAN Lanzarote, one of the most emblematic events on the international circuit and a global benchmark for long-distance triathlon.
The big winners of this edition were Lucy Charles-Barclay in the women's category and Dylan Magnien in the men's, after completing the 3.8 kilometers of swimming, 180.2 kilometers of cycling and 42.2 kilometers of running in a unique environment such as the island of Lanzarote. After the winners, the women's podium was completed by Jean Collonge and Merle Brunée; while in the men's category, the Spaniard Jordi Montraventa finished second and the Dane Mathias Lyngsø.
The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, on behalf of the entire Corporation, congratulated the winners and participants of RONMAN Lanzarote 2025, highlighting "the very high sporting and human level that we have experienced once again in this event, which places Lanzarote at the center of the international triathlon map".
"I want to express my sincere congratulations to the champions of this edition and to all the triathletes who have bravely faced one of the toughest challenges in the world. Their effort and determination are a true example for everyone," said Betancort.
The president also wanted to emphasize the essential role of the human device that makes this event possible. "My deepest gratitude to the hundreds of volunteers, to the state security forces, to the emergency services and to all the people involved in the organization and coordination of the event. Thanks to their dedication and professionalism, Lanzarote has once again demonstrated that it is prepared to host major international events with safety, hospitality and excellence," he concluded.
The Councilor for Sports of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Juan Monzón, wanted to highlight the level of this edition and thank all those who have made its development possible. "IRONMAN is much more than a sporting event: it is a symbol of the strength, overcoming and commitment of an entire island to sport. I congratulate the winners for their extraordinary performance, and also all the participants who have demonstrated an admirable spirit of struggle."
Monzón also had words of thanks for the organizers of the event, Club La Santa, as well as all those who make up the Insular Sports Service, the volunteers, the technical staff, the security and emergency forces and the public who once again filled the streets with enthusiasm.
"Every year IRONMAN reinforces our position as a first-class sports destination and leaves a positive impact not only on sports, but also on social, economic and tourism. This year has made a difference compared to previous ones, taking a qualitative leap in the event and I am sure that next year will be even better," he concluded.
The event, which brought together more than 1,100 athletes from nearly 60 countries, took place without incidents and with a climate that accompanied throughout the day. Puerto del Carmen was once again the heart of the triathlon, with thousands of people cheering on the triathletes in one of the most demanding challenges in the world.
