María Dolores Corujo and the Minister of Sports, Alfredo Mendoza, attended this Friday the Gymnastics Festival Isla de Lanzarote “Lolina Curbelo” at the Arrecife Sports City.

Corujo showed "her complicity with the gymnasts" and assured that “it is a regional benchmark in the promotion of this discipline in whose scenographies dozens of gymnasts between 4 and 17 years old participate".

"It is a pride to be able to share this moment with them after 28 years of celebration,” she confesses.

The president presented a commemorative painting and a bouquet of flowers to Doña Lolina Curbelo, before starting the performances, reports the Cabildo.

In these two days, hundreds of gymnasts from island clubs structured the shows starring the young athletes in the Sports City.

The shows have been devised and were executed by the members of the following Lanzarote clubs: Club Gimnasia Rítmica Tenesa Sol; Club Gimnasia Rítmica Ayatima; Club Gimnasia Artística Ábora Tigotán; Club Isla Lanzarote, Asociación Culdecase La Graciosa, Club Gimnasia Artística Salitre and the Colegio Santa María de los Volcanes Nazaret, they add.

The festival consisted of three sessions: one on Thursday, which began at 7:00 p.m. and two more on Friday, at 6:00 p.m. and the next one from 8:00 p.m., with the performances of the different participating schools and clubs, they conclude.
