Lionel Morales has finished this week a season full of successes and sensations with the third place in his category in the Finals of the Torremolinos-Andalusia Triathlon World Championship (PTS 2 Men).

After the sixth place and the Olympic diploma in the PTS2 triathlon event of the Paris Paralympic Games, Morales climbs to the third step of the podium to close the season, a huge success because, according to the Spanish Triathlon Federation, it is his first medal in a major international competition: “I needed it because I have had a very bad year with results that I did not expect and finishing the year third in the world is incredible,” commented the rabbit triathlete to federal sources.

Lionel Morales won the bronze after arriving in third position with a time of 1:11:37. In second position was the Russian Vasilii Egorov (1:11:03) and the first place was taken by the Belgian Win De Paepe (1:09:46).

For Morales who, as usual, in both transitions, got the second worst time with the changes, the bronze is a real success, “third in the World after the Paralympic Games in Paris. I have been sick for three weeks after the European Championship in Vichy where I got the fourth place. I am super happy with the result and now it's time to rest and plan the next season 2025”, concludes the rabbit triathlete, resplendent bronze medal in the Finals of the Torremolinos-Andalusia Triathlon World Championship (PTS 2 Men).
