The Costa Teguise Judo Club Lanzarote (CJCT) was part of the Canary Islands expedition together with colleagues from the island of Gran Canaria last weekend at the 'VIII Spanish Children's Super Cup' (Javier de la Marta Trophy) at the Ángel Rodríguez 'El Chanvi' Sports Center, in the Extremaduran Villa de Montijo. The best performances of the Lanzarote club were offered by Laura López, who won a silver medal, achieving second place.
A total of 139 competitors of fourteen nationalities took part in the eight male and female categories of the tournament. Ten male judokas participated defending the Canary Islands flag, Matías Ruiz, Dylan Hernández, Marcos Sánchez, Álvaro Acosta, Alberto Medina, Ulises Casas, Pablo Jiménez, Diego Silva, Elien Jiménez and Asier Morales. The Canary Islands women's team was made up of Andrea Mena, Laura López, Alexis Romero, Itaisha Martel, Marta Monzo, Eimy Curbelo, Elisabeth Díaz, Noa Álvarez, Yunaisi Gordillo, Adriana Moreno and Jessica Del Valle Vera.
On the other hand, Alberto Medina achieved a fifth place and Eimy Curbelo seventh place. The coaches of the Canary Islands team were Santos De Abajo, Álvaro Fernández, Xerach Hernández, Michael Hernández, Alejandro Medina, Mercedes Doblado and Alejandro Ramírez, who highlighted at the end of the 'VIII Spanish Children's Super Cup' “the more than good sensations of the team that arrived from the Canary Islands from the Canary Islands judo quarry”.
