Lanzarote will host the National Base Championship of Women's Artistic Gymnastics this Wednesday

For the first time in the history of the Canary Islands, "more than 900 athletes will visit the island" to take part in "this national competition"

The Cabildo of Lanzarote presented this Tuesday the upcoming National Base Championship of Women's Artistic Gymnastics that will take place on the island. The competition will be held from this Wednesday, June 21, until June 25 and has been organized by the Spanish Gymnastics Federation, in collaboration with the Isla Lanzarote Club, the Cabildo of Lanzarote and the Tourism Board.

Lanzarote will host for the first time in the Canary Islands the celebration of a championship of this type, with more than 900 athletes and more than 200 technicians, judges and representatives of various federations.

The acting Sports Councilor, Alfredo Mendoza, presided over the presentation ceremony of the event accompanied by the acting vice president, Marcos Bergaz, and explained that "the Isla Lanzarote Club will have a representation of more than 20 gymnasts divided into different categories during this championship."

Finally, the renowned gymnast Ray Zapata will attend the event to sign autographs and be with his club in this adventure that will take place in the Lanzarote Sports City.
