Last weekend, the Lanzarote Raqueta Club traveled to Tenerife to compete in the TTR El Sauzal tournament, a key event on the regional calendar. The conejero team had an outstanding performance in the Under-11, Under-13, Under-15, Popular and Senior categories, achieving a total of six medals and demonstrating the high competitive level of its athletes.
Among the most outstanding results, the performance of Vera García stands out, who was proclaimed champion of the Under-11 women's singles after defeating Ciara García in the final by 15-8 / 15-12. In the Under-11 mixed doubles category, Manuel Cabrera and Martina Fajardo also won gold, defeating the pair formed by Mateo Padilla and Lucía Cubas in the final (15-2 / 16-14).
In that same category, Airam Steux and Vera García achieved a meritorious silver medal after falling in a hard-fought final against Marta Silverio and Felipe Pérez (20-22 / 18-21).
In Under-15, Jorge Betancort won the bronze medal in men's singles, after reaching the semifinals and starring in a great duel against David Cortés (21-14 / 15-21 / 16-21).
In total, the club returned to Lanzarote with three golds, two silvers and a bronze, a harvest that reflects the effort and dedication of both the players and the technical team, composed of Valeria Feo, Inma Duarte and Ancor Suárez, who accompanied the expedition with their experience and constant support.
The club wanted to congratulate the entire team for "these great achievements" and for "proudly representing Lanzarote in each competition." A new step forward for an entity that continues to grow steadily in the Canary Islands badminton scene.
