The Lanzarote athlete Adriel Armijos has won the silver medal at the European Powelifting Championship held this weekend in the Czech Republic. This sport, also called powerlifting, consists of three weightlifting exercises (squat, bench press and deadlift).
Armijos has described the experience at the European level as "the best competition I have done to date." "I am very happy and proud of the results, but always knowing that we have to go for more and setting the goal of gold for next year," he declares.
In addition, the athlete already has his sights set on the next challenges. "We have a year of several competitions ahead of us, and, if all goes well, we will go to the Junior Spanish Championship, the Subjunior World Championship, the Subjunior European Championship and the Subjunior National Championship," he says.
