Lanzarote native Abbie Burns, 15, achieved fourth place in the legendary Vigo championship 'El O Marisquiño,' which is part of the World Cup Skateboarding, held on Samil Beach last weekend.
The skater from the Extreme Center of Playa Honda had to face more than 50 competitors in the women's category, where the best international level of skateboarding could be seen.
The women's podium was for Valentina Krauel first, Natalia Muñoz second, and Daniel Terol in third position.
Additionally, the Royal Spanish Skating Federation, along with the national skateboarding coach Alain Goikoetxea, has informed the Lanzarote athlete, representing the Extreme Center and the Skateros Sports Club, that she has been invited, obtaining the Wild Card to participate in the upcoming Skateboarding World Championship of the World Skate Games Italy, from September 6 to 14 in Rome, alongside the Women's Skateboarding Team.
The World Skate Games Italy is a unique event, with world championships of 12 sports taking place in 9 Italian cities from September 6 to 22. They will bring the spectacle of wheeled sports to the heart of urban areas in Italy.
In this youth festival, 160 world titles will be awarded in an extraordinary combination of competitions, music, entertainment, and sports.
