Next April 26th and 27th, the Extreme Center indoor skatepark in Lanzarote will host the first stop of the World Rookie Tour of the season. The youngest skaters, up to 19 years old, will meet at this inaugural event to enjoy a completely renovated skatepark for the occasion. The future promises of skateboarding who will compete in the rookies (15 to 19 years old) and grooms (up to 14 years old) categories are playing for a place in the final of the World Rookie Tour that will take place in the Mystic skatepark in Prague in autumn.

This is the first and only stop of the World Rookie Tour in Spain and a unique opportunity for national and Canary Islands skaters to compete at home against young people from all over Europe, a very significant fact as stated by the owners and builders of the Extreme Center Diego and Gustavo Rosende. “For us it is very important to celebrate one of the World Rookie Tour events because we participated in the 2023 final in Prague and we witnessed the magnitude of the event. Bringing it to Lanzarote is a source of pride for us, as young people from many countries participate and in this way they can try and enjoy our recently renovated facilities.

"We believe that this type of collaboration further increases the motivation of young people and thus gain more experience at a competitive level and share unforgettable moments." The complete Skateboarding calendar for the 2024 WRT will be announced soon: stay tuned by following the World Rookie Tour and the Extreme Center on social media.

This event is possible thanks to the collaboration of the Cabildo de Lanzarote and its Service for the Protection of Children, Adolescents and Youth, the Government of the Canary Islands and the Ministry of Social Welfare, Equality, Youth, Childhood and Families and also the support of Lanzarote Retreats, Bananity and Chacon.

About the Extreme Center Lanzarote

The Extreme Center is the first indoor skatepark in Lanzarote, which is currently in the process of expansion and total reconstruction by its owner and skatepark builder Diego Rosende (Buenos Aires, 1980). Diego started skating at the age of 12 and with his radical and very technical style at the same time, he was considered one of the influential skaters on the local scene and later debuted on the international scene sharing rounds with skateboarding legends such as Bob Burnquist, Steve Caballero, Eric Koston and Mike Valley among many others. His creation, the Extreme Center in Lanzarote, offers a street skatepark area, a bowl and a mini ramp, all built in wood. In addition, the center has a popular skate school for children and adults, a cafeteria and a store.

Registration is free and open to all skaters who want to participate as long as they are not older than 19 years old. For those interested in attending, they can download the complete information sheet about the competition and registration at the following link.
