UD Lanzarote started the new year adding an important away victory, after winning 2-4 against CD Marino. Two of the teams that are in the upper area of the standings faced each other on the Antonio Domínguez field and the early expulsion of the Tenerife team's goalkeeper marked the course of the match.
The goals of Iván Hujo, Álvaro Iglesias, Adrián Machín and Ale Fuentes, served to add the three points.
The match started soon in favor of UD Lanzarote, when goalkeeper David grabbed Iván Hujo when he was about to shoot at an empty goal, an action that was punished by the referee with a penalty and a red card. Iván Hujo himself executed the penalty, scoring 0-1.
CD Marino tied the match near the first half hour, when Maxi finished alone at the far post a cross from the right. Before the break, UD Lanzarote regained the lead on the scoreboard, with Álvaro Iglesias entering from the left and beating Guille with a crossed shot.
It was not noticeable at the beginning of the second half that the rival was playing with one player less, and CD Marino was able to tie the match with a distant shot from Pirri that surprised Ruymán. The match did not have a clear dominator, and UD Lanzarote was not able to retain the ball.
UD Lanzarote went ahead again on the scoreboard in the 72nd minute. After a corner kick, there were a series of clearances inside the area, with Adrián Machín being the one who finished in the last instance to make it three. Marino launched in search of the tie, with lateral crosses and balls hung into the area.
The sentence would come in the extension of the second half. A long pass from Oli was used by Adrián Machín to win the game against the defenders, pass to Ale Fuentes and he raised the ball to the goalkeeper to make the fourth for his team.
