The young talents Jules Bakunowicz, from the Inmensa Minoría school in Lanzarote, and Rayco Rodríguez Pérez, from the La Calzada school in Gran Canaria, both 14 years old, have been proclaimed champions in the Children's category of the international FIP Promises R3 tournament, held in Bristol, Great Britain, from April 11 to 13, 2025.
The Canary Island duo showed an exceptional level throughout the championship, standing out for their technique, understanding, and competitive mindset. This achievement has also been possible thanks to the joint work with their coach Miki Antas, and with the fundamental support of Ami Bakunowicz, manager and director of the new Padel and Tennis Club Uno in Costa Teguise. Together they have guided and accompanied the players in this important international tournament.
As a result of their victory, both players have signed a one-year sponsorship contract with the prestigious padel brand Bullpadel, recognized for its commitment to the development of the sport worldwide. In addition, the R3 Sport brand has integrated them into its team, acting as their representatives during the next year.
The FIP Promises is considered one of the most outstanding international tournaments for young padel promises, offering participants a platform to demonstrate their talent and potential on the world stage.
It is also important to highlight the great performance of Vincent 'Vinci' Bakunowicz, a player from Lanzarote from the Inmensa Minoría school, who competed in the Under 18 Junior category, a category higher than his own. With great merit, he managed to advance to the quarterfinals, falling in a very close match against the future finalists. A great result that demonstrates his excellent progress and potential.
