José Antonio Berriel "El Comandante" passed away this Thursday, October 27 at the age of 75. Berriel was one of the most important figures in the Lanzarote wrestling scene.

He was a wrestler, especially for the San Bartolomé wrestling club, and also a coach for other teams. In August 2015, his club gave him a well-deserved tribute at the Feluco Paz Wrestling Arena for all his years and for making the vernacular sport great in the islands.

Due to the death of the famous wrestler, the wrestling match that was going to be held this Friday, October 28 between CL Unión Norte and CL Tao has been suspended. Roberto Berriel, son of the deceased and prominent "A", is a member of the northern club, so the Insular Federation of Canarian Wrestling and both teams decided to postpone the wrestling match as a sign of mourning.
