The tourist town of Puerto del Carmen became the epicenter of triathlon from the early hours of Saturday morning, with the celebration of the fifteenth edition of the Ocean Lava Lanzarote 2025. At 8 in the morning, with excellent weather conditions, the different categories were started, with the participation of more than 400 triathletes. Jorge Wilkes and Maikel Döhling were the absolute winners of the Ocean Lava Lanzarote 2025.
The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, the Councilor for Sports of Tías, Ismael Cruz, and Kenneth Gasque, were in charge of sounding the horn to start the fifteenth edition of the Ocean Lava on Los Pocillos beach. A great atmosphere was palpable first thing in the morning to face the "Olympic" course, with a distance of 1,500 meters of swimming, 40 kilometers of cycling and 10 kilometers of running.
The winner of the race finished in under two hours, with Jorge Wilkes (CT Diablillos de Rivas) writing his name as the victor of the Ocean Lava Lanzarote 2025, with a time of 1 hour, 59 minutes, and 51 seconds. Rasmus Pilegaard took second place on the podium with a time of 2:03:15, and the third position was awarded to Arturo Javier Barro (CD Tridan Danysport) with a time of 2:08:08.
In the women's category, the victory went to Maike Döhling (Todo por un Sueño) after completing the "Olympic" course with a time of 2 hours, 35 minutes, and 15 seconds. Marine Blache was classified in second position overall for women with a time of 2:36:04, and the podium was completed with Sheila Jordan (Todo por un Sueño) in third place with a record of 2:39:25.

The Ocean Lava Lanzarote also included the "Supersprint" category in this edition, with a course consisting of a 400-meter swim, an 11-kilometer bike ride, and a 2.5-kilometer run. The battle was titanic from the start of the race, with minimal differences between the top finishers.
Fabio Vargas (VAS) took the victory in the men's category with a time of 41 minutes and 16 seconds. Joel Izán Concepción (Chamo Díaz Team) took second place overall, crossing the finish line just twelve seconds behind the winner. And Aitor Rodríguez (Club Natación Reales) completed the podium with a mark of 42:05.
In the women's category, the winner was Paula Vargas with a time of 48 minutes and 8 seconds. Sara Ballesteros (Trilaguna) took second place with a time of 48:27, and Carmen Marcos (Sports Club Tripate) came in third at the finish line with a mark of 48:55.
Trilaguna – Reactive team winners
One of the most popular categories in this edition was the relay teams, in which each of the team members had to complete one of the segments of the race. The victory went to Trilaguna – Reactive, made up of Iván Baeza, Alejandro González, and Alejandro Meneses, who completed the course with a time of 2 hours, 11 minutes, and 53 seconds.
The 15th Ocean Lava Lanzarote 2025 closed with the awards ceremony, which took place in the Plaza de Las Naciones, and was attended by Ismael Cruz, Councilor for Sports of the Tías City Council, and Juan Antonio Carreño, director of the event. The top finishers in each of the categories received their trophies and medals, which in this edition have been made with recycled materials, in a clear commitment to sustainability by the organization.
