Jonathan Torres returns to UD Lanzarote

Unión Deportiva Lanzarote continues to work on putting together the squad for the 2008/2009 season and in the last few hours has closed the incorporation of a new player. Jonathan Torres has reached a satisfactory agreement with the sports entity and the Lanzarote striker returns to become the new reinforcement of the rojillo team.

Jonathan Torres Hernández, born on December 11, 1977 in Lanzarote, occupies the position of striker and this will be his third stage in the ranks of UD Lanzarote. He has a proven experience in the Second Division B and has also played in more than one season in the Second Division A.

He started the previous season at Racing Portuense and in the winter market he joined the ranks of Orihuela. CD Tenerife, Valencia "B", Universidad de Las Palmas, UD Las Palmas, Nástic de Tarragona or Terrassa are some of the teams in which he has played throughout his sporting career.

The new signing of UD Lanzarote joined the first team's training sessions on Tuesday morning and has placed himself under the orders of Luis Rueda.

On the other hand, on Monday afternoon the Senegalese Lamine Ngaidio also joined the training sessions of UD Lanzarote. This young player of 17 years of age occupies the demarcation of striker and very good reports have been received. Lamine will be on trial at UD Lanzarote and if he is to the liking of the coaching staff he will join the Club's youth team.

Ian goes to Yaiza

Throughout the pre-season, many players have passed through the training sessions of UD Lanzarote and, as is logical, they cannot all stay in the first team. Ian has been the first to find a new team for the coming season, as the British striker joined the training sessions of Unión Sur Yaiza on Monday afternoon. The southern team contacted UD Lanzarote and conveyed their interest in acquiring the services of this player. Finally Ian has reached an agreement with Unión Sur Yaiza of the Regional Preferente.

The youth players Francis Hernández, Óscar Montelongo and Javi Morales, who have been training with the first team, are now enjoying a rest and will rejoin the youth squad.

For their part, the regional category players Federico O´Neill, Francisco Pisano, Juan Andrés Terrasa "Sali" and the defensive pivot Rafa Mendoza will continue training in the coming days with the first team of UD Lanzarote, as well as the youth player Roberto Varela will continue to be under the orders of Luis Rueda.

Depending on the new incorporations that may be closed in the coming days, the coaching staff will make a decision on these players.
