Jacob López and Álvaro Guadalupe, from Auria Badminton Club, climb the podium in Tenerife

The players won two silvers and a bronze in the TOP TTR San Juan de la Rambla

Auria Badminton Club was present this past weekend at the TOP TTR San Juan de la Rambla, with the participation of five players from the club in the under 13, absolute and popular categories. The most outstanding role was played by the young Jacob López and Álvaro Guadalupe, who climbed the podium in the individual modality and in the men's doubles, conquering two silver medals and a bronze.

Jacob López achieved victory in the two matches of the group stage of the under 13 category, qualifying directly for the grand final of the TOP TTR San Juan de la Rambla. The Auria Badminton Club player defeated Kirian Joel Calvo (21-4, 21-3) and Diego González (21-16, 11-21, 21-18), a player who started as the number one seed. And in the grand final, Jacob López fell to Felipe Pérez (18-21, 15-21), winning the silver medal.

In the same category, Álvaro Guadalupe also achieved victory in the two matches of the group stage, qualifying for the semifinals. The player from Lanzarote defeated Sabino Quingfu Blanco (21-11, 21-9) and Pedro Hernández (21-14, 21-19), the number three seed. In the semi-final round, Álvaro Guadalupe fell to Felipe Pérez (21-12, 16-21, 11-21), a result with which he won the bronze medal.

Jacob López and Álvaro Guadalupe also formed a pair in the men's doubles modality. The Auria Badminton Club players won the silver medal after falling to Pedro Hernández and Asier Linares from the Santa Úrsula Badnor club (18-21, 22-20, 12-21).

The TOP TTR San Blas de la Rambla also included the participation of Adrián Carabali and Oliver Gausmann in the absolute category, with both players falling in the group stage. And in the popular category, Zhi Tao Li was also unable to overcome the group stage. Carabali and Gausmann also played in the men's doubles modality, as did Zhi Tao Li together with Antonio Salas from the Valle Gran Rey club.
