The waters of the bay of Arrecife hosted on Saturday the thirtieth edition of the San Ginés 2025 Swimming Crossing, a scoring event for the Lanzarote Open Water Cup and which was attended by more than 200 swimmers. An event organized by the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife that is part of the program of activities of the San Ginés Festivities that are celebrated in the capital of the island, and in which Herminio Fernández and Naira Jaén were the winners.
At 1:00 p.m. the start was given on La Rocar beach, having to complete the swimmers of the children, junior and master category a distance of 1,200 meters. The mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, and the Councilor for Sports of the Arrecife City Council, Eli Merino, were in charge of giving the start to the participants, giving way to the strokes of the swimmers along the entire coast of Arrecife, passing through the emblematic Puente de Las Bolas and reaching the esplanade of access to the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife.
In the men's category, the victory went to Herminio Fernández (Nadamas) who distanced himself from the rest of the rivals and completed the course with a time of 15 minutes and 11
seconds. The rest of the podium positions were decided by sprint, with the second place for Hugo Rijo (Club Esportiu Mediterrani) with a time of 15:49, and Saúl Escarabajal (Club Triatlón Diablillos de Rivas) entered one second later in the third place.
Naira Jaén (Nadamas) was the great winner of the San Ginés Swimming Crossing in the women's category, with the Lanzarote swimmer scoring her third victory in the current
season in the Lanzarote Open Water Cup, and with a time of 16 minutes and 38 seconds. Lily Gopar (Nadamas) with a time of 17:16 and Nora Delgado (Nadamas) with 17:56 of time, completed the podium with the second and third position, respectively.
The little ones also participated in the XXX San Ginés 2025 Crossing, with different distances adapted to each of the categories. The benjamines completed a distance of 400 meters, with the victory for Aitana Fraga (Nadamas) and Xoan Pachón (ESNA Lanzarote).
The swimmers of the alevín category swam a distance of 800 meters, achieving the triumph Juan José Ramos (Nadamas) and Katia Pérez (Nadamas).
And in the prebenjamín category there was a distance of 100 meters, with Juan Camacho (ESNA Lanzarote) and Cataleya Navarro (Nadamas) being the winners.
The XXX San Ginés 2025 Swimming Crossing concluded with the awards ceremony at the facilities of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife. The event was attended by the Councilor for Sports of the Arrecife City Council, Eli Merino, and was accompanied by the councilman Roberto Herbón. Representing the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife were the
directors Sonia Fajardo, Bindu Dadlani, Tomás Gil and Sue González.
The XXX San Ginés Swimming Crossing is part of the program of sports activities of the San Ginés Festivities that are celebrated in the capital of the island. It has been organized by the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, together with the Canarian Swimming Federation, with the collaboration of the Cabildo de Lanzarote through the Insular Sports Service, the Arrecife City Council through the Department of Sports, the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism of Lanzarote and the Port Authority of Las Palmas.
