Great results for the Auria Bádminton Club in two tournaments

The team brought back two bronzes from the Territorial Master As Neves, and two medals from the TOP TTR Tuineje

Intense competition weekend for the members of Auria Bádminton Club, participating in two official tournaments and achieving great results. One part of the team traveled to Pontevedra to participate in the Máster Territorial As Neves, and in which two bronze medals were conquered. And another part of the team traveled to Fuerteventura to participate in the TOP TTR Tuineje, with Adrián Carabali achieving a gold medal in doubles and a silver in the individual modality.

Eight players from the Auria Bádminton Club integrated the expedition that traveled on Friday morning to Pontevedra, participating on Saturday in the Máster Territorial As Neves, an N5 level tournament. Álvaro Guadalupe, Hugo de la Paz Paradas, Jacob López, Aitami Fernández, David Rodríguez, Nerea Padrón, Ciro Radulovich and Patricia Vargas, formed the competition team and were accompanied by coaches Miguel Barbado and Samuel Tarife.

In the U13 men's category, Álvaro Guadalupe took the bronze medal in a tournament that was played by direct elimination. He overcame the first round by defeating Eric Mosquera (21-10, 22-24, 22-20), in the round of sixteen he won against Gabriel Sánchez (21-14, 21- 14) and in the quarterfinals against Antón Firvida (21-14, 21-11). In the semifinals, Álvaro Guadalupe was eliminated against Pablo Fernández (10-21, 6-21), second seed of the tournament.

In the men's doubles, the pair formed by Álvaro Guadalupe and David Rodríguez also took the bronze medal. They advanced to the semifinal round by winning all three group stage matches, defeating Alen Álvarez – Leo Álvarez (22-24, 21-15, 21-19), Eidan Durán – Jorge Guimarey (21-10, 21-11) and Martín Fernández – Jacobo Vigo (21-11, 21-8). And in the semifinals, they were defeated by Daniel Fernández – Gabriel Sánchez (22-20, 15-21, 19-21).

Gold and silver for Adrián Carabali in the TOP TTR Tuineje

Another part of the Auria Bádminton Club competition team traveled on Saturday morning to Fuerteventura, participating in the TOP TTR Tuineje, an N7 level tournament. Lucía Reyes, Valeria Cruz, Alejandro Guevara, Vaibhav Udhani and Adrián Carabali, made up the expedition and were accompanied by coach Oliver Gausmann and sports psychologist Sofía Correa.

Adrián Carabali started as the number one seed of the tournament in the men's U19 category. In the group stage, the player from Auria Badminton Club defeated Oliver Sánchez (21-9, 21-7) and Alejandro de la Orden (21-8, 21-8), and in the semifinals he defeated Roberto Cañadas (19-21, 21-12, 21-10). In the grand final, Adrián Carabali fell in a close match against César Mateo Camejo (15-21, 21-19, 17-21).

In the men's doubles of the sub´19 category, Adrián Carabali teamed up with Aitor José Medina (Tiguaneje), winning the gold medal. They reached the final by defeating Samuel García – Yeremi Inlago (21-18, 21-9) and Sean-Jamilo Schröder – Weichen Xu (21-9, 21-8) in the group stage. And in the final, they defeated the pair Aday Correia – Juan José Espinoza (19-21, 21-19, 21-11), to climb to the top of the podium.
