CB San José Obrero Lanzarote completed a hectic week in the Men's First National League on Saturday night, playing against Calvo Xiria their third official match in just seven days. Once again, the team coached by Iñaki Malumbres displayed their usual style of play on the court and it was in the second half when they finished defeating a Calvo Xiria that was not willing to give facilities during the 60 minutes of play.
The match began with the dominance of CB San José Obrero, a team that was confident with its 6:0 defense and having under the posts a Pavel Miskevich quite successful in this first part, and with a great ball circulation in attack to open the gaps in the defense of Calvo Xiria. The locals were very successful in these first minutes, and always looking for the best launching option.
Near the equator of the first part, Ángel Iglesias scored from the right wing to establish the 8 to 4 on the scoreboard and provoke the first timeout of the visiting coach. The game of Calvo Xiria was growing with the passage of minutes, achieving a partial of 0-2 with the goals of Diego Vega and Mario Cancela, and reducing the difference to only two goals with ten minutes left for the break (11-9).
CB San José Obrero entered a phase of the first part in which he began to commit excessive errors in attack, a circumstance that Calvo Xiria took advantage of to stay alive in the match. At the end of the first 30 minutes of play, the score was 17 to 15 in favor of the locals.
The first minutes of the second part were marked by equality, with Calvo Xiria going one goal down (18-17). From that moment on, CB Sam José Obrero stepped on the accelerator and the visitors began to feel the fatigue on the playing court. Acoidán Martín and Alexis Rodríguez were in charge of putting the 24 to 19 on the scoreboard, having to request Adrián Druba a new timeout before the equator of the second half.
CB San José Obrero finished breaking the match after the indications from the bench, achieving a partial of 5 to 1 with the goals of Alexis Rodríguez (2), Acoidán Martín (2) and Óscar Silva, and establishing the 29 to 20. Minutes later, the locals managed to establish the difference in the ten goals, income that they administered to perfection until the end of the match.
With the result of 37 to 27, the match ended in the Municipal Pavilion of Titerroy, with CB San José Obrero achieving a new victory to consolidate its leadership in Group A of the Men's First National League. The Lanzarote team will close the year visiting Granitos Ibéricos Carballal next week.
