Diana López from Lanzarote, world champion of Pole Dance

The athlete managed to attend and win the championship thanks to an aid campaign opened by herself to cover the costs of travel and stay

The Cabildo of Lanzarote has received Diana López, brand new world champion in the Free Ultra Pole Dance category, in recognition of her recent triumph in the world championship held in Stockholm, Sweden. 

The reception was attended by the president of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort, and the Minister of Sports, Juan Monzón, who praised the Lanzarote athlete for "her effort, dedication and success, which have taken the name of Lanzarote to the highest sporting level."

Oswaldo Betancort expressed his pride on behalf of the entire island, declaring: "Diana has shown that with passion and perseverance all barriers can be broken. Her achievement is a source of inspiration for everyone, and her commitment to this sport speaks of the determination that defines our athletes." 

For his part, Juan Monzón, Minister of Sports, recognized the arduous path that Diana has traveled to achieve success, stating: "We not only celebrate Diana's talent, but also her perseverance and effort, which have taken her to the top. From the Sports area, we will continue to support the development of all sports disciplines so that other young people can follow in her footsteps and achieve their dreams." 

The Cabildo of Lanzarote reaffirms, with this tribute, "its commitment to continue supporting the island's athletes who represent the island with excellence and effort."
