CL Tao won the thirty-second edition of the "Fundación La Caja de Canarias" Tournament on Friday night, defeating CL San Bartolomé by 11 to 12 in the grand final held at the Feluco Paz arena in San Bartolomé. A final with alternatives on the scoreboard and decided by the important fighters of the two teams. Marcial Viñoly and Mario Franquiz were mutually eliminated, and Cristo Hernández gave the victory to CL Tao by eliminating Fran Rodríguez del Toro and Francis García "El Negro".
The cadet and youth fighters of CL Tao were in charge of putting the first points on the scoreboard. Miguel Reyes gave the two in a row to Andrés Tejera, Cristo Betancort did the same with Cristian Tabares, and Pedro Arrocha fight by fight eliminated Alejandro Tejera. The initial result of the final of the "Fundación La Caja de Canarias" Tournament was a clear 0-3 in favor of CL Tao.
Sindo Betancort, David Medina, and Santigo Cabrera were in charge of reducing the differences and leveling the score. Sindo Betancort gave the two in a row to Miguel Reyes. Roberto Barrios was in charge of putting CL Tao ahead again on the scoreboard by eliminating David Medina and Fran Rodríguez del Toro fight by fight, and Fran Rodríguez put the tie by giving the two in a row to Octavio Perera. The scoreboard reflected a 9-9, entering the final in the decisive part.
One of the keys to the final was the confrontation between the Outstanding "B" Marcial Viñoly and the Outstanding "C" Mario Franquiz. The first grab between both fighters ended in separated, and in the second, both were eliminated by adding four warnings. CL San Bartolomé was left without one of its important fighters.
Francis García "El Negro" put CL San Bartolomé ahead on the scoreboard by giving the two in a row to Roberto Barrios. In the ranks of CL Tao, only Cristo Hernández remained standing, being the Outstanding "A" in charge of putting the tie by eliminating Fran Rodríguez del Toro. The first grab between both concluded in separated, and in the second, the fighter from Tao scored the victory.
Cristo Hernández was in charge of giving the victory to CL Tao, after giving the two in a row to Francis García "El Negro" in the last grab of the night. CL Tao was proclaimed champion of the XXXII "Fundación La Caja de Canarias" Tournament, with the verdillos taking the second major title of the season. On July 1, they will play the Canarian Wrestling Super Cup against CL Unión Sur Yaiza.
