Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote continues to achieve victories and put pressure on the top two classified teams in Group F of the Men's First National Handball League. On Saturday afternoon, they comfortably defeated Balonmano Manzanares, in a match in which they were always ahead on the scoreboard and at no time did they see their advantage in danger. The injury of one of the referees cut the initial rhythm of the game, with the match being stopped for about 40 minutes waiting for the arrival of another referee who had just finished directing his match at the Tías Municipal Pavilion.
From the beginning of the match, the initiative in the game and on the scoreboard was for Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote, being the team in charge of having the first advantages on the scoreboard. The Lanzarote team played with their usual 6:0 defense and making a great circulation of the ball in each of the attacks. BM Manzanares tried to stop Ciudad de Arrecife with a 5:1 defense with special surveillance on Nelson Espino. The player from Gran Canaria with powerful shots broke the defense of the visitors.
The match had to be stopped in the 8th minute for 40 minutes. The referee Miguel Gardón suffered a puncture in the calf of his leg and could not continue on the field of play. The Madrid referee even had to be transferred to a medical center due to the severity of the injury and we had to wait for the arrival of José Enrique Iglesias, referee who had directed the match of the women's category between Puerto del Carmen and BM Caserío Ciudad Real.
It was difficult for both teams to get back into the game after the break that the match suffered, although the dynamics did not change and Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote continued to take the initiative. With six minutes to go until the break, BM Manzanares managed to get within one goal of difference (13-12), a circumstance that forced Jesús Casanova to ask for a time-out to stop the dynamics of the rival. Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote woke up and with the result of 18 to 15 the first 30 minutes of the match came to an end.
In the second half of the match, Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote did not see its advantage in danger at any time, increasing the difference to seven goals in some phases of the game. The Lanzarote players had enough tranquility to mature each of the attack actions, always looking for the best possible alternative. Pedro Noda from the wing was a nightmare for the defense of BM Manzanates and Nelson Espino with the outside shot surprised the visitors again and again. Not even the mixed defense that was placed on Nelson Espino was enough to stop the attack of Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote.
BM Manzanares in several phases of the match played with an attack of seven. A strategy that surprised those of the neighborhood of Titerroy in the first attacks due to the superiority, but that little by little was having little effectiveness. Even Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote was able to score with shots from their own court, after stealing the ball and the Manzanares goal being without a goalkeeper.
With the result of 32 to 26 the match came to an end, adding Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote two new points that keep them and consolidate them in the third place of the classification. The Lanzarote team is one point behind PAN Moguer, team that occupies the second place of the classification. In the next match, Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote receives the visit of BM Maracena, match that will be played on Saturday at 19:30 hours in the Municipal Pavilion of Titerroy.
