CB Lanzarote Zonzamas continues with a firm step in the Women's Silver Honor Division, adding its ninth victory of the season on Saturday afternoon, which allows it to continue leading the classification of group A of the category. Comercial Ulsa Hand Vall Valladolid did not make it easy, proving to be one of the teams that aspires to fight for the two positions that give the right to play the promotion phase at the end of the season.
The match started well for the interests of CB Lanzarote Zonzamas. The goals of Brenda Roger (2) and María de León, put the 3 to 1 on the scoreboard in the first minutes, although the reaction of Comecial Ulsa Hand Vall Valladolid was immediate with a partial of 0-3. A goal from Mónica Gutiérrez put the Valladolid team ahead for the first time (3-4).
The alternatives on the scoreboard were common throughout the first half, with a one-goal advantage for either of the two teams. After passing the equator of the period, a 3-0 partial allowed Zonzamas to open a small gap on the scoreboard, although the visitors reacted again to reach the break of the match with a tight 16 to 15.
The second half began with two goals from Natalia Garcés, which allowed Comercial Ulsa Hand Vall Valladolid to take the lead again on the scoreboard (16-17). CB Lanzarote Zonzamas began to find its best version as the minutes progressed in this second half, with a solid defense, an effective attack and a goal that became an authentic wall.
CB Lanzarote Zonzamas took the initiative on the scoreboard, having a three- or four-goal advantage throughout the second half, although the rival did not give up the possibility of scoring on the leader's court. In the last six minutes of the match, the team led by Juan Rivera achieved a 4-0 partial, definitively opening the gap on the scoreboard.
With the result of 32 to 25, the match came to an end, with CB Lanzarote Zonzamas adding the ninth victory of the season and presenting its credentials as a solid leader of the category. The Lanzarote team will play again next week as locals, receiving the visit of Siero Deportivo on Saturday, a match scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
