The Auria Badminton Club made its condition of host valid in the second leg of the National League Second Division Gold, adding the victory in the matches played on Saturday's day at the facilities of IES Blas Cabrera Felipe, in Arrecife. The Lanzarote team began the day with a comfortable victory against Viladecans (7-0) and more adjusted was the triumph against Valladolid (4-3). The results place the Auria Badminton Club at the front of the Second Division Gold classification, achieving the full of triumphs in the first two legs.
An open duel was expected against Viladecans, but the Auria Badminton Club gave no options and added the victory in the seven matches played. In the mixed doubles, Martín Barbado and Laura María Solis prevailed over Óscar Muñoz and Aina Pablo (11-6, 11-8, 11-5).
In the women's doubles, Laura María Solis and Sara Vianelli won against Laia Minguez and Aina Pablo (10-11, 11-3, 11-7, 11-6), and in the men's doubles, Martín Barbado and Miguel Barbado prevailed over Héctor Flores and Marc Villanueva (11-4, 11-9, 10-11, 9-11, 11-4).
In the women's singles matches, Zeneida Ortiz added the victory against Laia Minguez (6-11, 11-6, 11-7, 11-10) and Sara Vianelli won against Nora Lacalle (11-2, 11-5, 11-3). And in the men's singles, Samuel Tarife defeated Marc Villanueva (11-6, 4-11, 11-9, 9-11, 11-4) and Miguel Barbado won against Héctor Flores (11-9, 9-11, 11-3, 11-8).
The duel against Valladolid was tighter, with Auria Badminton Club having to come back from an adverse score in the last two singles matches. In the mixed doubles, Valladolid scored the first point, with the victory of Javier Barrios – Ana Sainz over Martín Barbado and Laura María Solis (4-11, 9-11, 5-11). In the women's doubles, Laura María Solis and Sara Vianelli tied the match, defeating África Cimas – Sheila Diez (11-6, 11-8, 11-6), and the men's doubles also went to Auria Badminton Club, with Miguel Barbado and Samuel Tarife defeating Iker Bartolomé – Isaac Martín (10-11, 11-6, 11-6, 11-9).
Valladolid added two points in the first two individual matches, with Zeneida Ortiz falling to África Cimas (7-11, 11-10, 8-11, 5-11) and Adrián Carabali to Javier Barrios (9-11, 6-11, 9-11). And the Auria Badminton Club turned the result around by winning the last two points, with the victories of Sara Vianelli over Ana Sainz (11-10, 11-10, 7-11, 11-10) and Miguel Barbado over Iker Bartolomé (11-8, 11-4, 11-4).
With these two victories, the Auria Badminton Club places itself at the top of the standings of the Gold Second Division of the National Clubs League, adding victory in the four matches played to date. The third leg will be on April 18 and 19, a weekend in which the Lanzarote team faces Alfajarín, Tenzul El Rosario “B” and Goose Wings.
