Auria Badminton Club brings two medals from the 'TOP TTR Tuineje' to Lanzarote

They also participated in the 'TOP Máster Canovelles' held in Catalonia, although here the participants were defeated in the group stage

Intense weekend of competition experienced by the members of the Auria Badminton Club, participating in the TOP TTR Tuineje held in Fuerteventura and in the TOP Máster Canovelles that took place in Catalonia. The young talents from the club's youth academy had a great performance on Majorera soil, bringing back two bronze medals.

Individually, Álvaro Guadalupe won the bronze medal in the under-11 male category. The Auria Badminton Club player started as the sixth seed, and in the group stage, he defeated Guayre Hernández (15-6, 15-4) and Maykel Pérez (15-5, 15-8). In the quarterfinals, he defeated his teammate Jacob López (15-9, 12-15, 15-8), and fell in the semifinals against Airam David Steux (15-7, 12-15, 13-15).

The second bronze medal achieved in the TOP TTR Tuineje was won by Jacob López and Álvaro Guadalupe in the male doubles. The Lanzarote pair won their two matches in the group stage against Martín Armas and Acaymo Marrero (15-5, 15-9), and against Gorka Luján and Maykel Pérez (15-5, 15-5). And in the semifinals, they were defeated by Manuel Cabrera and Airam Steux (15-3, 13-15, 13-15).

The TOP TTR Tuineje also included the participation of Zhi Tao Li in the under-19 category, with the Auria Badminton Club player being defeated in the first round against Iriome David Medina (14-21, 16-21) and he played in the doubles category with Saúl González. And Jacob López, in the under-11 category, achieved victory against Mateo Velázquez (15-11, 15-12) and Francisco José González (15-9, 15-8), before being eliminated by his teammate in the quarterfinals.

TOP Máster Canovelles

Three members of the Auria Badminton Club traveled to Catalan lands to participate in the TOP Máster Canovelles. The expedition was made up of Adrián Carabali, Graciela Müggler, and Martina Negrín, being accompanied throughout the weekend by coach Oliver Gausmann. A tournament of great experience for the Lanzarote players and checking the level of national badminton.

Adrián Carabali participated in the under-17 category and was defeated in the two matches of the group stage. He fell against Joan Callau (16-21, 24-22, 18-21) in a match that forced the third set, and he could not achieve victory against Pablo Pedrajas (5-21, 14-21) either, a player who started as the number 5 seed. Carabali was able to play in the doubles competition with Álvaro Ruiz from the Aspe club of the Valencian Community, due to a withdrawal of the Valencian player's partner.

Graciela Müggler and Martina Negrín participated in the female doubles competition of the under-17 category. The Auria Badminton Club players were defeated in the group stage against Victoria Burgos and Andrea Mingarro (9-21, 13-21) and against Blanca Cantón and Polina Prykhodko (7-21, 11-21).
