Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen fell defeated this Saturday at the Municipal Pavilion of Tías in the visit of Anaitasuna (22-27) in a match corresponding to the eleventh matchday of the women's División de Honor Oro.

Fourth consecutive defeat for the Tiñoso team, which, despite the return of World Cup players Delyne Leiva and Brenda Torres, had no clear chances to win the match at any point. Ahead of the Christmas break, Puerto del Carmen remains in last place in the standings with three points and a record of one win, one draw, and eight losses after ten games. Anaitasuna moves up to seventh place with eleven points.

Both teams started the match very erratically and somewhat agitated. Made was growing in confidence and allowed Puerto a slight initial advantage (5-3, min. 9), but the Navarrese team reacted with a zero-three run that prompted the first timeout from Jesús Casanova (6-8, min. 13:44).

The pause was of little use, as Anaitasuna had taken a step forward in defense and was managing well in the choppy waters the match had become. The visiting coach called a timeout to plan the final minutes of the first half (11-13, min. 26:39). Puerto tried to patch up the situation before halftime, but luck was not on their side (12-15)

The locals started strong after the restart with a penalty from Yuli Quevedo, but the visitors were quick to respond. The momentum from the first half continued, with the visitors showing a bit more intensity in every tackle. To make matters worse for the black and golds, Andrea Sáez was a force in the Pamplona goal. The home team's attacks fizzled out, and the Navarrese team capitalized on their advantage. El Puerto, overwhelmed, wanted to but couldn't, and reached the halfway point of the second half five goals down (16-21). Shortly after, the home team called another timeout, almost in desperation, hoping for a small Christmas miracle in the final minutes, but time ticked by and Anaitasuna continued their game, leaving little room for the longed-for comeback (18-23, min. 23)

Casanova called for a new tempo with five minutes left, but the home team had accumulated too many inaccuracies with a rhythm very different from that shown by the visitors. Much to improve in Puerto del Carmen after the Christmas break

For the Tiñoso coach, Jesús Casanova, "we started the game reasonably well, we took the lead with good defense and accuracy, both in counterattacks and shots on goal, but, once again, another game, uncharacteristic errors from players in this category prevent us from achieving victory. A lot of errors in that phase with passing errors, errors in clear shots, little forcefulness in defense, and that allows the opponent to grow, and in the end, once again, it led us to a tough defeat. It's clear that we are going through a critical moment, it's true that many players haven't been able to train, like Deli, Mónica, Andrea, Romina could only train one day a week, and well, that prevents the team from being better prepared, on the one hand, but, on the other hand, I insist that the errors are glaring, uncharacteristic of players in this category, and that is greatly affecting our results," Casanova concludesDelyne Leiva among the locals and Daniela Natale among the Navarrese became the top scorers of the match with seven goals each.

Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen will return to competition on January 10th, visiting Bm. Ikasa Boadilla, a team that this week lost on their visit to AD Carballal (31-29) and occupies third place in the standings with fourteen points after seven wins, one draw, and three losses in eleven matches.
