Lanzarote was present at the reception offered last Tuesday by the Kings of Spain at the Zarzuela Palace to the Spanish Handball Team, which on Sunday, January 26, was proclaimed European champion for the second consecutive time after defeating Croatia 22-20 in the final held in Stockholm (Sweden).
President of the Canary Islands Federation for almost two decades, Blas Parrilla is one of the four vice-presidents and head of the Competition Area of the Royal Spanish Handball Federation, chaired by Francisco Blázquez, who in June 2018 awarded the Lanzarote native - formerly a player for CB San José Obrero and CB Tenerife Tres de Mayo, among others - the gold medal and badge in recognition of his extensive work in favor of Canary Islands handball.
Recently, the Spanish Olympic Committee has also distinguished him with the Olympic Badge for his fifty years dedicated to the sport of handball, with one of his great bets, in order to give visibility to all clubs, being the streaming format, an indispensable tool for live monitoring of Liga Guerreras Iberdrola and División de Honor Masculino matches, among others.
