We all pay all politicians a small salary of tens of thousands of euros a year, plus expenses for meeting to conspire for or against someone (or almost everyone). It seems too simple to believe, even if it is possibly shared by many people, that "all politicians are corrupt"; it is a catchphrase that is very successful, repeated by those who are alien to the benefits of the profession of representing, or who do not share some remunerated consanguinity with the possessors of that representation.
But in principle, only those who have been convicted of bribery, abuse of power, influence peddling or others can be called corrupt, because even when they are charged, they are only alleged; let's be respectful of a rule of law or a state where justice is equal for all.
It is unfair to generalize that "all politicians are corrupt" because it does not do justice to those politicians who have not been convicted; the right thing to do is to accept that there are corrupt politicians, that there are alleged charged politicians who are not corrupt until they are convicted and non-charged politicians, who are not corrupt either.
If we accept as a premise that this country has been stripped of its wealth due to corruption, we must also accept that it has not been due to the criminal responsibility of the entire political class. Only a deeper reflection allows us to recognize that part of the political class that is not corrupt, to know who they are and what they do.
The resources of the state have not been looted by all the most illustrious, most excellent, their lordships and even their royal highnesses; it is fair to clarify that it has been looted only by a few of them; "corrupt politicians" who have squandered the future in the name of the future and have leased the general interest to the particular interest in the name of the general interest, almost always through private or shared front men, professionals of easy business or controllers of power through the control of money.
So, as we are as we are, it is worth asking what those others who are not corrupt are doing there, it seems that they are paid a salary for nothing because nothing is what they have achieved, perhaps without their presence the situation would be worse, because it can be worse and that is what they are doing. If they charge to be there and do nothing, or what they do has no social relevance, it is that they are absolutely incompetent, because they have not avoided anything and selling more of the same, they cannot avoid any future misfortune.
So we only have corrupt politicians and incompetent politicians, both say they love "the profession" from which they live. Many without having done anything else, not even having gone through demanding that job, without having responded to any "political job offer" that obviously does not exist; they have simply climbed in some political party, surely through intrigues or sucking up, that's how they have worked it and that with what it has cost them to get there, they are not going to accept now any electoral modification that implies admitting that national sovereignty resides in the people and not in the parliament. That is why everyone, some for corrupt and others for incompetent, should go to work, to the unemployment lists, to the underground economy, to try to live on a benefit, on their holy mother's pension or on air.
