The impression of abandonment of the IES Pancho Lasso in Arrecife has been increasing in recent years. It is not right that this family center in Lanzarote suffers this neglect by the corresponding authorities.
If we look at the exterior, we realize that the bars are rusty. This detail is important not for aesthetics, but for the risk of them breaking and causing damage to people in the educational community or people passing by on the street. Let's not forget that this center is located on a school route where many students, teachers, and administrative and service personnel from nearby centers such as IES Blas Cabrera pass. The Insular Library is also nearby.
If we access the facilities of the center, we may be struck, apart from the rusty bars, by some works that have been paralyzed for some time, some imposing palm trees, which any day could cause a misfortune, specifically one that overlooks Salvador Allende Street. Inside the premises, we will see a non-functioning elevator, fire extinguishers whose inspection is not up to date and without the mandatory signage, and we even find images of Franco, a fact that allegedly infringes current legislation in this regard.
What effort does it cost the Administration to maintain in better conditions than it is a center that was always a reference in Lanzarote?
