The Freedom Flotilla was created in 2010 as a peaceful coalition in solidarity with the Palestinian people with the humanitarian purpose of bringing aid to Gaza when Israel has blocked access.
Last Saturday, a new terrorist act was carried out by the Israeli army, when it assaulted and kidnapped the crew members of the Handala ship, of the Freedom Flotilla, in international waters, as it was heading to break the blockade and bring humanitarian aid to the population of Gaza.
On this occasion, the objective of the Freedom Flotilla was to bring a symbolic amount of food for the population of Gaza, such as infant formula, flour, rice, diapers, sanitary products for women, water desalination kits, medical supplies, crutches and prostheses for children.
At the time of the assault by the Israeli army, there were 21 people of different nationalities inside the ship, including Santiago González Vallejo and Sergio Toribio, from the Spanish State.
The immediate release of the 21 crew members is essential, as well as the immediate intervention of the government of the Spanish State to carry out their release, since it has the responsibility to protect its citizens and to demand compliance with International Law.
This fact once again demonstrates what the Israeli army and government really are, authentic genocidaires, who do not hesitate to continue sowing panic, massacre and famine in Palestinian territory.
The siege to which they are subjecting Gaza, using hunger as a weapon of war, is a crime against humanity and absolutely unacceptable.
