THANK YOU in capital letters, is undoubtedly the word that we, the people of Arrecife and those of us who are part of the Popular Party family in Lanzarote, have today for the great and intense, professional and human work carried out in these 4 years in the Arrecife City Council. As you have rightly said, "it has not been an easy task due to the administrative situation in which the City Council found itself after the non-existent management of previous years", but you, Astrid, have made it possible with your good work, your ability to manage, to lead and to give a project to a city that was abandoned. A challenge that you knew how to lead and shape in time, with great enthusiasm and excitement.
A plant that you planted in June 2019, the month in which you took office as mayor and in which you began to activate Arrecife after several years of neglect of the capital. Although it was not an easy mandate due to the difficult administrative situation in which the City Council found itself, a fact that was aggravated by the global health alert that we were facing for the first time on this planet earth. Covid 19 caused many activities and projects to be affected and temporarily paralyzed to give priority to each of the people in your city, as you did with your team. Urgent aid to citizens, distribution of masks, extra hiring of social workers, ... all this to boost the social area since it was necessary to respond to the dreaded covid-19 pandemic.
However, Arrecife continued its journey with your hand and your great legacy: new infrastructures, improving roads, roads and avenues were opened, local commerce was promoted, the city was provided with new green areas, fountains were reopened, Arrecife's schools were improved with new infrastructures, different procedures and files were attended to and accelerated to respond to businessmen, artisans, merchants, suppliers were paid, our capital and towns were decorated and embellished with parks and gardens, neighborhoods were activated and you listened to the demands and needs of your Arrecife residents, internal connectivity was improved with the public transport service, leisure and culture was generated and offered, the streets were illuminated, Christmas was celebrated as the boys and girls of Arrecife deserved, the islet of La Fermina could finally be reactivated and return the artistic and cultural legacy of Cesar, ... and a long endless of projects, infrastructures, works, files, payments,... you returned to the capital of Lanzarote the honor and quality they deserved. As you proposed in your previous election campaign: You activated Arrecife and Arrecife was activated!
All this great legacy has been sown in a fertile land, which you gradually watered during these 4 years, hard and exciting, of challenges and adversities, which you knew how to take care of with affection, effort, professionalism, dedication, care and with a great team. A legacy that is beginning to see its new and good fruits and that are beginning to emerge those that have been promoted, pampered and cared for from 2019 to the present. We know that from the Presidency of the Parliament of the Canary Islands you will also collect and enjoy, with pride and satisfaction, the projects started and those that are beginning to be promoted.
THANK YOU MAYOR! The city of Arrecife will be eternally grateful to you. We know that it is not a goodbye forever because a part of you, a part of your heart, your essence and your legacy remains among us and that makes the team that remains in the City Council of Arrecife with Yonathan in command, will be collecting step by step all the fruits of your mandate, your good work and your human, managerial and political commitment in our capital. This team that takes over the witness and the rhythm of everything that began to take shape in these 4 years and that continue on the road. A team that has your seal and your essence: your desire to give and provide projects, work, enthusiasm and desire to improve the quality and well-being of the citizens of the city of Arrecife and continue to place it in the place it deserves.

We wish you to continue growing personally and professionally in the Presidency of the Parliament of the Canary Islands. It is a pride and satisfaction that the Canary Islands have noticed you. Although this fact is not surprising, because your years of experience, work and full dedication to the city of Arrecife and the island of Lanzarote have been demonstrating it and you continue to do so day by day. Every conejero will have the immense pleasure and satisfaction that our island is and will be well represented in the chamber of the word: for being the first conejera woman, from the Popular Party and from Lanzarote to give visibility to our beloved island of Lanzarote.
