Massive offering to the Virgin of Sorrows in Mancha Blanca

Thousands of pilgrims gathered this Saturday in Mancha Blanca to make the traditional offering to Our Lady of Sorrows. The pilgrims offered kilos of food that will be distributed among the neediest people on the island.

The president of the Government of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, participated this year along with other authorities such as the president of the Parliament, Ástrid Pérez, the president of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort, the Minister of Culture, Migdalia Machín, the different mayors of the island and other public officials.

This year the offering started an hour earlier than in other editions. Once the offering was finished, the pilgrims could enjoy dancing with the groups Pal' Porrón, Tinasoria, Son del Norte, La Polvajera and Pa'lante (Gran Canaria).

The festival program will continue this Monday, September 14, with the Merengazo Joven which will be held from 8:00 p.m. with Edwin Rivera, Lauta, Orquesta La Sabrosa, Grupo Bomba, Banda Nueva and Mambo Latino.
