If it is already embarrassing that in the 21st century in the Spanish State there is no legislation to protect the rights of all migrant minors, as required by all directives and international law, and that a law such as the one that was brought on Tuesday has to be brought to a plenary session of the Congress of Deputies, in which it was intended to approve the distribution of migrant minors by different territories as if they were little more than merchandise.
What is truly shameful and intolerable is that in said Congress there are 178 "people", who claim to represent part of the citizenry, who on Tuesday voted against carrying out this measure, trampling on the human rights of thousands of migrant minors who arrive in the Spanish State, moving away from their families and fleeing from war, hunger or misery. And that is what happened yesterday in the Congress of Deputies. When the far-right deputies (they can no longer be called otherwise) of the Popular Party, VOX and Junts, have united their racism and fascism to overturn the reform of the Immigration Law, leaving thousands of migrant minors in limbo who currently do not know what will become of their future.
With phrases such as "Spaniards have the right to go out on the street in peace" or "We oppose continuing to saturate Catalonia" the far right has shown that its electoral interests are above the rights and lives of thousands of creatures, of underage people, and in this way parties such as the PP and Junts completely remove their masks (even more) and place themselves in the same place as VOX, who based on hoaxes and fake news has dedicated himself to muddying the waters so that said reform would not go ahead, something that he has finally achieved.
We are clear that the solution to the existing problem with migrant minors and with migrants in general was not going to be solved with yesterday's vote in Congress, even if it had gone ahead, but we do understand that it would have been at least a solution to alleviate the problem; being clear that what is really necessary is the application of international measures so that people do not have to flee their country of origin in a forced manner.
We will continue to shout and make it clear that no human being is illegal, that Human Rights and the Rights of minors must be above the political class and governments, and we will continue to fight against racism and fascism like the one that was staged yesterday in the Congress of Deputies.
