On Saturday we witnessed living history at the Gran Canaria Stadium.
Quevedo's generosity to this land... has been reflected by inviting @losgofiones to his most massive concert.
Art, youth and identity joined hands in a moment that will mark a generation.
Quevedo and Los Gofiones joined their voices to give even more life to our Canarian folklore, in front of a mostly young audience that not only listened, but felt.
When history trembles, culture responds.
In a land where our roots sometimes feel forgotten,
today they sounded strong.
Quevedo and Los Gofiones,
two generations, one voice.
A song that is not just music:
it is memory, identity and territory.
Faced with a youth that often grows up without mirrors,
today the reflection of what we are was raised.
Because Canarian is not the past:
it is struggle, it is wound, it is pride that sings.
In times where what is ours weakens,
this moment sustained us.
It reminded us that culture is not an ornament:
it is an act of resistance.
And that singing what is ours is also defending it. We are the land of USTEDES [You plural in Spanish].
May our root never fall again.
May the Canary Islands be heard, felt, and celebrated.
May what is ours not be lost. May what is ours be heard.
