Being the CC-PNC candidate for Lanzarote and number two for the province of Las Palmas to the Congress of Deputies is an unmissable opportunity, at least for me.
I firmly believe in the project of a party that fights for the interests of all Canarians, those by birth and those who feel Canarian at heart, the youngest and those with more experience and background. We all add up, we all contribute and we are all necessary to ensure that Lanzarote and the Canary Islands are heard loud and clear in Madrid.
We are not second-class citizens, no sir. We do not deserve the crumbs they leave us in the general state budgets, while they smile at us, waiting for us to thank them.
I am young, it is true, but I want to work for my island. The years I have spent in politics and my experience at the head of the Economy and Finance and Urban Planning departments in the Arrecife City Council have made me see things clearly.
We cannot stand still, sitting in an armchair, waiting for others to take the first step. No! If we want the Canary Islands to occupy the place that corresponds to them once and for all, the time has come for us to get involved with actions and not with words.
We are in a moment of very important legislative changes that will affect the Constitution and the REF, and that, of course, will affect the Canary Islands. If we are not where we have to be to claim and demand the place that belongs to us in that cake called the State, then we cannot complain.
If there is someone who fights for our interests, I am clear that it is the Canarian Coalition-Canarian Nationalist Party. The dialogue and strength of our project are the best weapons we can use.
