My proposal

December 6 2015 (16:22 WET)

"I don't dream at night, I dream every day. I dream to live (S. Spielberg)." Like this great film director, I dream, but I dream of a fairer, more social Lanzarote, without class differences, a Lanzarote with a political, social and economic development up to what we deserve.

The people of Lanzarote must be present, now more than ever, in the political change that is going to be experienced at the state level and in the midst of these changes Lanzarote must be represented in its seat in the Senate. For this reason, we have a one hundred percent Lanzarote program, made from the island and with issues to rescue and propose in the Senate.

That is why my proposal is structured in nine fundamental blocks, which from the Senate I will get for Lanzarote.

EDUCATION

The reform of the education law must include specific programs in the field of languages, with a new Vocational Training program that is capable of training people at the rate that society demands, also including our uniqueness as an archipelago so that our students have the same opportunities as any other and at the same cost.

TICKET PRICE

For Canarians, flying is not a privilege but an obligation for geographical, administrative, labor, business, educational or health reasons, and a pricing policy should be promoted that adjusts to the needs we have to travel due to geographical reality.

EMPLOYMENT

We must fight in Lanzarote for an improvement in the quality of employment and its stability, with the reactivation of budget items in the Comprehensive Employment Plan of the Canary Islands (PIEC).

PORT INDEPENDENCE

The Arrecife dock is a strategic infrastructure for the Island and its development, its decisions cannot be in the hands of our competitors and we will demand the independence that other port authorities with worse results and a less strategic position have already obtained. We will defend this independence, already agreed upon on the Island, in Madrid.

FISHING

The relations established by Spain with neighboring countries have ruined the development of our fishing sector. We will demand that conversations be resumed to allow us to resume the activity that gave this Island so much satisfaction, taking advantage of the resources that we still have in our waters.

INFRASTRUCTURE

The Canary Islands-State agreements for the development of our infrastructures have been positive for the Island and we will try to resume them to respond to historical demands in this matter, such as the Master Plan, Highway Agreement and the improvement of our Airport.

SINGULARITIES

We are different and we want to continue being so. We will work for a legal framework that reflects our singularities, positioning the Islands within Europe but respecting and promoting the peculiarities that mark our identity and attract our tourists.

FINANCING

We want more equal funding per inhabitant, for the maintenance of our basic services, such as education, health and social services.

For a fairer Economic and Fiscal Regime that is shielded in the Constitution and a financing sheet that can allow a development more in line with this land.

SUSTAINABILITY

Lanzarote is an example of sustainable development, combining respect for our environment with the development of our primary economic activity. It must be regulated that this status is maintained and promote formulas so that this sustainable growth continues to be an example in the world and a fundamental attraction for our visitors.

We want to rescue those projects forgotten in the past, such as the Wind Farm that they promised us years ago. And projects as important for our main economic engine, tourism, as the Diving Center in Puerto Del Carmen.

That is why Lanzarote cannot stop being in the Senate, that is why the conejeros cannot stop occupying that seat, that is why we are the only nationalist force that will face the parties of Madrid. For a Senate of all and for all.
