With the constitution of the General Courts, this morning in the Congress and the Senate, we have taken the first steps to start the XIV legislature, after the failed attempt to form a government that led us to the holding of new Elections. The Socialist Party then apologized for the impossibility of reaching sufficient support to provide Spain with a political direction to face the enormous challenges of the 21st century. Now, in this new opportunity that opens up, we trust to leave the blockades behind and invest the winner of the last Elections, Pedro Sánchez, as President of the Government.
President of a fair, supportive, egalitarian and sensitive government regarding the planetary environmental crisis. The first signs leave no room for doubt: the immediate agreement with Unidas Podemos has shown a new flexibility and capacity for dialogue that places the general interest above the legitimate partisan ambition.
The hasty offer to host the Climate Summit is clear evidence of the concern of the still acting Executive about the impact of global warming on the lives of present and future people. And the designation of two women at the head of the Bureaus of the Congress and the Senate can only be interpreted as a firm commitment to Equality in all areas, also in the space of power where women reach the least representation, the political one.
Those who fill their mouths with Spain must understand the damage caused by the interim nature of the Government. Urgent decisions must be made in the face of a labor market that is beginning to show signs of weakness, in the face of a migratory reality that requires permanent attention, in the face of the new data from the PISA report that confirm that the education of our young people is not going as it should, in the face of the number of femicides, which continues to escalate every day.
Ladies and gentlemen elected representatives of the Right bloc: Let's do politics where it belongs, in the Chambers of Congress and the Senate, let's do it with responsibility towards the community that has delegated to us the commitment to work to meet their demands and alleviate their difficulties. Respect the electoral result and work to turn it around in the next appointment with the polls. And in the meantime, do not strangle the opportunities of our young Democracy or place it in the hands of those who only want a retrograde and unsupportive independence, which saturates us and prevents us from paying attention to the general problems of citizens.
