How to vote in Venezuela and Juan Guaidó's records

July 31 2024 (21:14 WEST)

To say that in Venezuela the electoral process is 100% automated and is one of the most reliable in the world and the following methodology is established for the elections, first of all, before the election day, software specialists from all political parties are summoned to audit the machines and computerized system of the electoral system.

On the day of the election, the polling stations open their doors, only once all the representatives of the parties or witnesses accredited by the National Electoral Council (CNE) are gathered, the activities are distributed and the voting begins, each voter must show their ID and be verified that they are registered in the National Electoral Registry, then they go behind a curtain, commonly made of cardboard, where the electronic screen is located, and the voter clicks on the box where the candidate of their preference is located, then the electronic device prints the option chosen by each person, so that they can verify it, in this way a first phase of personal audit of each voter is executed, then the electronic vote is deposited in a closed box by the individual himself, to then go to the front of the voting book where he signs and places his fingerprint.

Once the polling station is closed, when there are no more voters in line to vote, the representatives of all political parties move on to the next audit phase, the CNE's record is printed and this result must match the ballots deposited in the box or ballot boxes, once the results are verified, the record is signed by all the representatives of the parties and the electronic transmission to the CNE is made, a copy of the same is given to each representative.

After the election and once all the machines arrive at the CNE, a sample is taken and what was transmitted is verified, in front of all the representatives of the different political organizations, in order to carry out a final audit again. The CNE has 30 days to publish the results in the Electoral Gazette (here BOE). The CNE has always published the totalized results per polling station before the 30 days it has to publish it in the Electoral Gazette.

The first thing a political party that does not accept the results should do is to demonstrate with its records that its claims are true and to this day it has not been demonstrated. The party that claims its triumph and declares fraud does not show its evidence and dedicates itself to making irresponsible calls to the street of its supporters, to exert pressure and see to what extent public order can be destabilized, thus converting the request for transparency into a methodological fraud of request, since by not possessing the necessary votes, it prefers to leave in the population a symptom of psychological dissatisfaction, which in the long run gives better results, street disturbances and injured or dead.

The logical and institutional thing in democracy would be that whoever wants to challenge Scrutiny Records, ask for a certification from the CNE and with them challenge the electoral process before the Superior Court of Justice. It is also strange that having the records all the parties, only the one that arrived second claims, all the other parties could also say that there is presence of fraud, but that does not happen.

Outside of Venezuela, the extreme right, the far right and some social democrats at the service of the U.S. try as they have done before, to lie and speculate, requesting the records and recounts that no one has denied, talk about more sanctions and project enough hatred in the electoral context, with the sole objective of forming favorable conditions for the plans of the extreme right elaborated in Washington and Madrid.

The active participation of Elon Musk, the current richest man in the world, in the campaign against the Venezuelan electoral results, makes it clear that the confrontation, beyond the national political operators, brings out the weight and participation of extraterritorial interests. By the way, those who are asking for the records and transparency are the same ones who in 2019 recognized Juan Guaidó when he proclaimed himself president of Venezuela in a Caracas square before a hundred followers, but on this occasion the records did not matter, nor the count table by table. Finally, patience sir with these cheap manipulators.
