It's a question I never thought I'd be writing. But the truth is, it's quantified.
In our minds, surely such a despicable act would be priceless and unforgivable, that would be the logic and common sense, wouldn't it?
But for those with 150,000 euros, the bill comes to 4.5 years in prison.
Therefore, a crime is once again economically quantified according to the individual's purchasing power.
If justice is equal for all, and we are in a State of Law? It does not agree that a crime is measured based on the economy. It's illogical.
I don't dare to doubt the legal criteria, and surely the laws are well studied for such a sentence. I respect Justice, as a law student that I am, eternal for sure, I believe that Justice should also be respected.
And I would like to consider something...
I believe that as long as we continue to measure and quantify our actions according to economic dictates, humanity will continue to prioritize the material and the economic before the facts as such. And THAT is a SERIOUS CRIME that will fall on us sooner or later.
All the support in the world to the victim. Because that is now the MOST IMPORTANT THING.
