Ceuta invaded

I wonder what kind of person is capable of leaving their home and gathering with a mob to go and set fire to a camp.

I do not accept any kind of explanation that seeks to justify this savage behavior based on the tension generated by the presence of immigrants.

With that same completely unacceptable justification, the burning of gypsy camps or entering Jewish neighborhoods with blood and fire was rationalized.

The only explanation, never a justification, that these attacks admit is widely known: in the face of a complex and potentially explosive situation, tempers are inflamed by the presence of agitators.

What is truly worrying is that in this case the agitators have been institutional agents, precisely those called upon to stabilize the situation: the far-right and the increasingly ultra-right with the support of media outlets that have become elements of agitation.

In no case is it acceptable to refrain from criticizing the role played by the Government of Spain. Even if it had done everything possible, the citizens would be within their rights to feel dissatisfied.

But in no case is it acceptable that the response is to unleash violence, with a very prominent role played by the ultra ecosystem.

From the first moment of the crisis, there were those who wished for a Torre-Pacheco reloaded and called to hunt down immigrants one by one, as the miserable loudmouth Figaredo did in the name of Vox. But, also from the first moment, he had Feijóo's support when he proposed the impossible task of expelling all immigrants who arrived in Ceuta.

The only mitigating factor that could be considered when analyzing the savagery of the arsonists is precisely that, that they acted moved by the tension generated by Vox and the Popular Party, conveniently amplified by social networks and the constellation of media outlets that have made it their flag to bring down Sánchez at any cost.

But I insist again that, however legitimate it may be to criticize the Government's actions and consider that it has not lived up to the challenge of managing the stay of thousands of immigrants without any control in such a small population as Ceuta, there is no justification whatsoever for the savagery of the mob.

It is worrying. We are seeing in real time that Ceuta is invaded.

Invaded by brainless savages capable of joining a mob of arsonists who, although they constitute a minority, have managed to put the city in a state of tension much more worrying than that generated by the massive arrival of immigrants.

Invaded by second-rate politicians, by petty and miserable populists willing to inflame the spirits of those savages to the limit to put them at the service of their partisan strategy.

I insist that they are a minority of uncontrolled individuals. I am sure that if we were to tour Ceuta, we would find that despite the unbearable situation, the majority of Ceutans would say no, that not like this, that it is unacceptable to resort to uncontrolled violence.

Nothing can be expected from Abascal. From Feijóo, although it becomes increasingly improbable, one might expect an unreserved condemnation of what happened and, yes, a relentless criticism of the Sánchez Government, but explicit condemnation of violence is essential.
