It is unacceptable that a new school like CEIP La Destila has been without an elevator since December of last year when a downpour flooded the garage and the base of the elevator. When a work of so much money is carried out, one has to think about how this type of accident can be prevented. In this case it seems that it has not been done. The ramp through which the garage is accessed, when it rains heavily, becomes an authentic dam and we have a safe flood and, if the elevator is not well protected, the breakdown arises, breakdown or technical problems that have been almost a year without being solved.
In the center there are students from enclave classrooms with reduced mobility who deserve special attention. It may also be the case that other members of the educational community also have reduced mobility.
What is the Arrecife City Council waiting for to put an end to this situation? According to current regulations, the conservation, repair and surveillance of public schools with elevators included, of course, concerns the city councils.
