An unworthy government handed over to the defector who supports it

That from an institutional cabinet, such as the Press Cabinet of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, the tricks of the textbook defector Juan Manuel Sosa are applauded in official press releases to delay the pronouncement of the courts on his expulsion, can only be considered an authentic shame and democratic anomaly that directly attacks the dignity of the institution of which Dolores Corujo presumes so much, but which she discredits so much with her actions.

We are talking about something very serious: there is a gentleman perpetrating all kinds of tricks to evade justice, while an entire president puts at his disposal (in addition to external legal services contracted to defend him, as I will accredit) nothing less than the communication department of the institution, so that everyone knows how happy the PSOE is because the defector councilor who supports them in the Presidency continues to evade the action of justice. Tremendous!

It is not the first time that this president has made a partisan use of this institutional tool, making it clear that she is delighted that from that institution that she presides over, the Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa that all the people of Lanzarote pay for, proselytism is being made of the defection that supports the government and applauding the legal arguments of Juan Manuel Sosa to prevent the courts from ratifying his expulsion from the Nationalist Group (CC-PNC).

For those who have not followed the soap opera (I realize that this is boring), the last trick I am referring to consisted of a complaint in the criminal court —already dismissed— that Sosa filed against all the CC councilors, but that paralyzed the pronouncement in the Contentious Court on the merits of the matter, only because the dismissal of said complaint is not yet final and this is what the Cabildo's cabinet applauds in two consecutive press releases.

The serious, grotesque and paradoxical thing about all this indecent defection is that the plenary session of the Cabildo with the majority of the government that is based on the defector himself, has imposed on CC that a member of the government continues to be a member of the Nationalist Group, which is in the opposition.

Let them explain to me how they can maintain that we are not facing a textbook case of defection, and the worst thing is that he continues to collect his full salary from the Government of the Canary Islands, without being entitled to it since he is not the spokesperson for the Nationalist Group.

I want to clarify that the only thing that the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands (TSJC) has said is that the Contentious-Administrative Court, where Sosa's expulsion is being decided, cannot rule on said expulsion until the dismissal of his complaint through criminal proceedings is final, and it is not simply because this "gentleman" appealed said dismissal, precisely to avoid the pronouncement of the courts. A legal dog chasing its tail so that this is resolved when Corujo has already completed her mandate in minority supported by a defector.

In short, a legal mess designed with the support of the president of the Cabildo, and applauded from her communication cabinet and by the entire propaganda and media apparatus of the PSOE, without anything happening here.

It is unworthy that a democratic institution presumes that the stratagem of a defector works —which in reality is that of the entire government including PODEMOS— so that the courts cannot rule on his defection because they know they are an illegitimate government in minority, which, to the misfortune of the citizens of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, has paralyzed the institution.
