The former President of the Government of Spain, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, left the island on Monday afternoon, where he has been for just over 20 days with his wife and daughters. Zapatero arrived in Lanzarote on July 30 and has spent his holidays in a duplex in Puerto Calero.
In the same town he coincided with the President of the Government of the Canary Islands, Paulino Rivero, who has also spent a few days of rest on the island. In addition, Zapatero also met in Lanzarote with the Minister of Industry and Tourism, José Manuel Soria, who has been vacationing in a hotel in Playa Blanca. Both met at the La Bodeguita de Uga restaurant and exchanged a few words.
Friends, sport and relaxation
José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero and his wife have shared time in these days with several personal friends, who also moved to Lanzarote to spend their holidays.
In addition, Zapatero has gone running every morning and has dedicated time to rest and tour the island. Among other activities, the couple also went sailing on a yacht, invited by José Calero.
Although there had been speculation about the possibility of buying a house in Lanzarote, so far there is nothing decided. What José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero has made clear again is that he will return to Lanzarote, which has already become his usual holiday destination.
