The project was commissioned by the Yaiza City Council and its execution is planned in a co-financing formula between the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge of the Government of Spain and the local Administration, which managed a budget of 1.5 million euros from State funds. Óscar Noda maintains that the "objective is to update the sanitation of all population centers. El Golfo and Uga are on track and we are working on closing the Yaiza sanitation project."

The action in Uga will allow collecting and pumping wastewater from homes and businesses for purification treatment, ensuring that the works are carried out in accordance with the required quality, safety and efficiency standards.

The assignment proposes the construction of the sewage network of the town and the impulsion of water to the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) of Tías. The Ministry and the Water Consortium of Lanzarote know the project with the detailed description of the works.
