The Popular Party of Yaiza held an extraordinary committee this past Monday in which the appointment of Guayo Rodríguez Caraballo as local honorary president was approved in recognition of his outstanding career and commitment to the municipality and the party. The simple act also served to pay heartfelt tribute to his figure and his legacy as secretary and councilor of the PP in the Yaiza City Council.
The committee was presided over by the local president and municipal spokesperson, Juan Monzón, and was attended by the general secretary of the PP of Lanzarote, María Tovar, as well as numerous colleagues who wanted to share this endearing moment with his family and loved ones.
During his speech, Juan Monzón had words of thanks for his colleague, who passed away last April, of whom he highlighted that "he will be forever among us, because in addition to being a good politician, involved and committed to the Popular Party and to the municipality of Yaiza, Guayo was an excellent person who earned the affection and appreciation of all who knew him."
For her part, María Jesús Tovar conveyed to the family and the local committee the recognition of the island leadership of the Popular Party, underlining "the dedication and loyalty that Guayo always showed towards the Popular Party and towards his municipality." She added that "his example will continue to be a benchmark for new generations of members and public officials of the PP."
The event concluded with the screening of an emotional video that captured moments and experiences shared over the past few years, a cherished memory for family, friends, and party colleagues who wanted to pay a well-deserved tribute to his memory.
