The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, confirms that "the City Council has already sent to the Official Journal of the European Union the file of the open public tender for the supply and installation of two new playgrounds located in the towns of Femés and Uga, whose base bidding budgets total 905,000 euros, so that interested companies will soon be able to consult, in electronic headquarters, the technical and administrative specifications to execute the two municipal projects that the southern Administration co-finances with charge to the Municipal Cooperation Plan of the Cabildo of Lanzarote".

These actions are part of the intervention plan in 24 parks of the municipality “through which we have already renovated and implemented new play areas, including the park in the Plaza de Yaiza, the park of San Marcial del Rubicón, Faro Pechiguera, Marcastell and the boat park in the center of Playa Blanca”, as pointed out by the councilor responsible for the Area, Rubén Arca.

Yaiza is now tendering two lots: one referring to the playground located next to the Uga School, on Los Volcanes street, budgeted at 394,000 euros, and another lot aimed at replacing the leisure and recreation facilities in the Femés Atrás park, located on Mararía street in the historic town of Femés, which requires an investment of 511,000 euros.

Apart from these play areas, Óscar Noda announces that “there are more investments planned in parks with municipal funds to continue with our objective of delivering new facilities for the use and enjoyment of families, as new investments in sports facilities are also planned”.

"Yaiza is a model on the island in the implementation of inclusive and accessible parks and has transferred its technical experience to social agents, groups that care for children with functional diversity and other public administrations", Noda points out. "We work so that the designs of the parks and their play elements can be enjoyed by children of different ages in the most comfortable, safe and autonomous way possible”, concludes the mayor of the municipality.
