The Yaiza Town Hall has informed its neighbors of the beginning of the Participatory Budgets 2024 program, inviting the population from now on to present their investment proposals, consulting requirements and calendar in the cover banner published on the town hall website, an initiative whose objective is to “promote citizen participation in decision-making on the destination of municipal funds”, according to the southern mayor, Óscar Noda.

The Councilor for Citizen Participation, Águeda Cedrés, highlights that “with this second edition of Participatory Budgets we intend to involve our neighbors more in the planning and execution of projects that benefit the entire community”. The Yaiza Town Hall encourages everyone to present their proposals to improve the quality of life in the municipality and promote sustainable development. Yaiza encourages residents “to share their innovative and creative ideas, in order to build together a more prosperous and equitable future for all”.

The Administration also announces that the winning proposals of the first edition of Participatory Budgets have been carried out successfully. Among the outstanding initiatives are several trainings on ecological crops and community gardens, which have had great participation from the community. These activities have contributed not only to promoting sustainable practices, but also to strengthening the social fabric and promoting teamwork.

Due to the interest generated by the training on ecological crops and community gardens, the Department of Citizen Participation will add this line of work to its actions during this year. “We also want to share that the specifications that will allow the green light to be given to another of the winning proposals in the first edition of Participatory Budgets, consisting of the installation of modular classrooms that generate a space for Citizen Participation in the town of Yaiza, is in the study phase for its processing.

This project represents an important step towards strengthening the cultural infrastructure in our municipality, providing residents with a modern and accessible space for learning, reading and the exchange of ideas”, adds the responsible councilor Águeda Cedrés.

Yaiza has already begun to carry out an itinerant information campaign on this second edition of Participatory Budgets through different towns in the municipality. This information campaign will take place during the months of June and July. For more information, the Institution suggests visiting the Yaiza Town Hall website, where you will find all the details about this process.
