The Yaiza City Council makes a new call for citizen awareness, reminding those responsible for motorhomes that it is totally forbidden to dump liquids or garbage in natural areas or public roads, following municipal inspections and complaints from bathers on the beaches of Papagayo who this weekend again detected waste in parking areas of the Los Ajaches Natural Monument.
The Councilor for Beaches of Yaiza, Ángel Domínguez, points out that “the lack of citizen awareness threatens public health, the environment and respect for those who do comply with the minimum rules of coexistence.”
Domínguez adds that “some campers not only empty the liquids in the parking lots, but also do so along the roads and even in the garbage containers”. Yaiza also takes the opportunity to remind motorhome users that it is forbidden to spend the night in Papagayo.
