Four days dedicated to children's literature with workshops, book presentations, storytelling, talks and shows, is the invitation letter of the literary festival 'Cuéntame Yaiza' that takes place this week in the southern towns of Uga, Yaiza and Playa Blanca.
The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, and the Councilor for Culture, Daniel Medina, encourage the families of the municipality and Lanzarote to participate in the entire offer of this new meeting with letters scheduled between Wednesday, February 20 and Saturday, February 23, and whose complete program can be consulted on the cover of www.yaiza.es
The Yaiza City Council will present the illustrated book 'Yaiza and the Uga camel' on Thursday 21st, at 10:00 a.m. in Uga, an exciting story that encourages reading and reinforces knowledge of the culture of the land. The work is written by Diego González and Laura Escuela and illustrated by Nareme Melián. It is the second municipal publication of children's literature after the book 'Yaiza and the Rubicon' presented by the Institution at the Playa Blanca Book Fair in 2017.
'Yaiza and the Uga camel' will not be the only children's book that the festival discovers, since the presentation of the book from the Story Creation workshop taught by the writer Mayte Pozo is organized on the very day of its opening. This event is on Wednesday 20, at 6:00 p.m., at the Casa de la Cultura Benito Pérez Armas after the storytelling session with the Hada Patricia.
'Cuéntame Yaiza' also has activities planned in cultural centers and educational centers of the municipality such as the storytelling by Cristina Temprano on Friday 22 in the Playa Blanca Library or the illustration workshop with the artist Nareme Melián on Thursday 21 at the IES Yaiza. The literary festival offers a wide range of proposals to have fun and learn.
