The Yaiza Town Council encourages residents of the municipality to consult nearly thirty citizen proposals at www.yaiza.es and vote online for one or two of them that they believe the local Administration should carry out as part of the third edition of the Participatory Budgets process promoted by the government presided over by Óscar Noda, within the framework of its municipal co-governance program.

The voting is open to residents of Yaiza over the age of 16, who can participate until Sunday, November 23 by clicking on the visible yellow banner located in the header of the municipal website.

The only voting method is through the website, which provides voters with an email address should they need to report any issues with the platform or verification of their document. In addition, the Citizen Participation Area, led by Councilor Águeda Cedrés, created a voting support group for all people who may encounter difficulties accessing online participation.

"The previous participatory budgeting processes have been very enriching, and not only because of the citizen proposals that are put to a vote and that we have implemented, such as the free online training platform that is underway, but also because the population conveys concerns and problems to us that, while not under municipal jurisdiction, do help us communicate them to the responsible institutions," says Águeda Cedrés.

The vote comes after the presentation phase of neighborhood proposals and technical analysis, where the viability of the 103 citizen initiatives registered was studied one by one, almost double that of the previous edition, numbers that confirm the growing interest of citizens in directly involving themselves in the improvement of their environment and well-being, contributing to decision-making about the destination of a portion of the municipal budget.
