Vox has denounced the "constant snubbing by the government group led by the mayor, Yonathan de León" for refusing to release its councilors in the Arrecife City Council and adds that it represents a "discrimination" compared to the PSOE group. As will be recalled, Vox has two councilors compared to the nine of the PSOE.

The far-right party presented a motion to the plenary session held last Friday in which it stated that "the application of the principle of equality and non-violation of current regulations in order for the Arrecife City Council to proceed and act in the same way with this Group (VOX), as it has proceeded with the councilors of the PSOE Municipal Group in relation to their release."

"Not only is Vox denied this release, but, illegally, it is framed in the Mixed Group, and even the absurdity of treating them as non-attached councilors was intended, it is worth noting the mayor's insistence on not calling VOX by its name but referring to it as "Mixed Group", they point out in a statement.

From the formation they emphasize that although Vox "does not have the minimum of three councilors to have its own political group, Vox in Arrecife cannot be framed in the Mixed group, which, by definition, can only be composed of councilors from at least two different political formations. Therefore, legally it corresponds to be a political group, even with only two councilors", they add.

Regarding the release, the party says "that its councilors work in the private sector and cannot attend to the neighbors during the corresponding hours. The attention that the neighbors deserve cannot be given in a municipal office, when they leave work in the private sector at 8:00 p.m. and this is known by the government group, who claim to have made a municipal office available, knowing that it cannot be used during public service hours by these councilors."

Finally, Vox announces that "it will consider and take the measures it deems appropriate and necessary to correct this situation that they consider contrary to law."
